Deb Carpenter

Since Deb Carpenter is a teacher by trade, she has found it a natural progression to use the art forms of poetry, song and story to instruct as well as entertain. She taught for several years on the Pine Ridge Reservation and she has been sharing her original work throughout the West for several years. She currently instructs writing classes at Chadron State College in Chadron, Nebraska through poetry, songs and stories.
Deb, in partnership with poet Lyn Messersmith, performs an educational program about women who travelled and settled the Plains and about men and women who helped shape the American West.
