Miles Apart

Raised as an East-Coast city girl, Pat McKeon worked for more than 20 years with government agencies in Washington, DC, and enjoyed all the art, music and culture available there. In 1988, she moved to acreage in Masonville, Colorado with her husband and helped raise purebred Targhee sheep for a number of years. With such a change in her life, a constant was her love of music, especially playing bluegrass, country and gospel on the autoharp. After jamming informally with friends for years she has finally "gone public", singing with vocalist and guitar player Vern Gayler.

Vern was born in the Ozark hills of Southern MIssouri in 1931, and learned to sing and play music at an early age. WHen he moved to COlorado (near Livermore) in 1974, he played for about seven years in a group known as the "Trio". Then he put the guitar away for ten years until a bluegrass jam outside Fort Collins, COlorado motivated him to, once again, become active in playing and singing. In August 2004, he joined with Pat to perform at the Masonville Gospel festival, and they have been expanding their repertoire and musical engagements since then.
