Bill May, Cowboy Poet
|
Bill May is a farmer, stockman, cowboy at heart, kind of guy who began
writing poetry several years ago. Having lived all his life on a Buffalo
County farm, he relates his experiences in his writings. Bill has
witnessed dried out, hailed out, washed out, plagues of green bugs,
army worms, grasshoppers and everything else that can go wrong in
farming. He loves livestock and has seen the ups and downs in the
market place, Fellow stockmen in his audiences enjoy hearing about
"The Day the Sows got in the Yard", "The
Boar Sale", "The Cowman", "Will
the Ostrich Replace the Cow?" and many more. He also has
a serious and sentimental side reflected in poems such "The
Old Farmhouse", "Mother's Loving Hands",
"Grandpa's Farm" and "The Bible",
He entertains all over the Midwest as well as poetry rings, County
festivals and contests, He has produced three cassettes and one book
of poetry.
