- Through October 31, 2007 – Raptor Migration Project, Kemmerer - Commissary Ridge Raptor Migration Project offers on-site interpreters who can help you better understand the "why's" and "how's" of raptor migration. Interpreters are generally available six days per week throughout the monitoring season. Our trapping/banding operations offer the additional experience of seeing recently-banded raptors up-close. - September 3-October 26, 2007-The Red Desert Photographs by Martin Stupich, Rawlins-Since 2000, Martin Stupich has photographed extensively in Wyoming’s Red Desert with an urgency to record it in the midst of its changing landscape. Through his images, we see an expansive landscape, diverse geology, evidence of the earliest human occupation, boom and bust towns, and present day industry. Collectively, an image of this place emerges, revealing the human history of our connection to the landscape – this landscape. It is a complicated and fragmented portrait, one that tugs at the perception that this is a barren place of little value and one that encourages us to look again at the Red Desert in all its wonder and wildness.
- September 8-October 20, 2007- Ladies’ Choice Invitational Exhibition, Big Horn- Ladies’ Choice Invitational Exhibition opens September 8 at the Bradford Brinton Memorial & Museum in Big Horn. This year the premise of the show was to invite 19 women artists, who each co-curated the show by selecting a male artist, thus making it the ladies’ choice. On display are 93 works of art in a wide variety of media from oil and acrylic to watercolor, pen and ink, photography, bronze, marble, and more, created by 38 contemporary artists from Wyoming, Montana and around the country. The exhibition will be on view until October 20, with gallery hours 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday.
